About the team

We are the Formula Student racing team of Lund University, consisting of Engineers, who enlisted in a project-course at the Faculty of Engineering, and business students who take care of all administrative and promotional tasks. The project starts every autumn, with the goal to design, develop and manufacture a top class racing car during the school year, and compete against other universities from all over the world at the official competitions. About the Competition

Formula student is an international engineering competition, initiated by The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in USA. Their opinion was that the engineering students they recruited lacked the practical knowledge of building a car and the overall phases of such a project. They wanted to improve the quality of their education by involving the students in a real world product development and manufacturing project. Read more about the competition here.

Home sweet home. What a thrilling week we've had in the UK! It has been a true honor for us to represent Lund University and Sweden in Formula Student at Silverstone, a competition of around 140 universities from 33 different countries!

The week did not start smoothly. After being stuck in France the first night the team managed to get on its feet and install itself in the pit with all other teams on scrutineering day with literally no sleep.

Although we missed many of the dynamic events because of brake problems, we managed to perform in the static events and finish a lap of endurance 12 seconds faster than the rest of the teams who were on the track at the same time as us! We are undoubtedly proud of our performance!

Congratulations to Rennteam Uni Stuttgart e.V. for the win, you guys are an inspiration! We also want to give an extra thought of compassion to the incredible teams who were disqualified.

As we won't be participating in other Formula Student competitions this summer, we would also like to sum up this year of Lund Formula Student. What an incredible ride we've had! We want to thank all our friends and family who have supported us in Lund and at the competition. Of course we would like to express an enormous gratitude toward our sponsors and the faculty for the support. Without you, this would NEVER have been possible! THANK YOU! <3

We finally reached the endurance event and finished our first lap in 71 seconds! Unfortunately, the 22 lap race ended just after entering lap 2 as we crashed into the rear of the car ahead of us. Check out the pictures, we almost caught it on camera! All in all, we are very proud of participating in the endurance event, especially considering the fact that we completed our only lap 12 seconds faster than the rest of the cars on the track!
