About the team

We are the Formula Student racing team of Lund University, consisting of Engineers, who enlisted in a project-course at the Faculty of Engineering, and business students who take care of all administrative and promotional tasks. The project starts every autumn, with the goal to design, develop and manufacture a top class racing car during the school year, and compete against other universities from all over the world at the official competitions. About the competitions

Formula student is an international engineering competition, initiated by The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in USA. Their opinion was that the engineering students they recruited lacked the practical knowledge of building a car and the overall phases of such a project. They wanted to improve the quality of their education by involving the students in a real world product development and manufacturing project. Read more about the competition here.

FSG Day 5

The event of today was endurance. The goal of today was to finish.

Some team members worked half the night in the pit to fix some problems, so we were very pleased to see the car run smoothly. With our new quote on the back wing: "The car will make it", we made it. We did it. We finished endurance.

Now, we will party.

FSG Day 4

We're through scrutineering! Unfortunately we were a little but too late and we never had the chance to participate in the acceleration event. We did have time for the autocross though, and we got a decent time placing somewhere in the middle.

On Sunday it's time for endurance. The big test. We have failed before, but we're better prepared this time. Our excellent driver Alexander Mullaart once said the famous words: "The car will make it".

Hopefully he's right this time.

FSG Day 3

It's been raining all day long, while we have been trying to get through scrutineering.

We have finally made it through to the noise and brake tests, that we will hopefully pass early this morning. Because of the long waiting times and some issues at the tilt test, we missed the skidpad. The goal now is to make it to the acceleration event later today.

Nothing can stop us now. Not even rain.
